Draw Objective tree
The above picture is the first objective tree that our team drew with "protecting the medical staff from external factors" as root tree. In the first discussion, our team thought of various solutions, including minimizing physical contact and mental management of the mentally ill, with a focus on protecting the medical staff from external factors. However, feedback has been given that it is too wide and abstract to cover all within a set period of time. In conclude we decided to narrow the discussion down.
The above picture is the second Objective Tree that our team drew with "protecting the medical staff from the sudden behavior of the mentally ill" as root tree. In the second discussion, we modified root objective from protecting the medical staff from external threats to protecting the medical staff from sudden behavior of the mentally ill. Furthermore, the solution was limited to the use of tools in a wide range of concepts, such as minimizing physical contact and mental management of mentally ill people. Through this, various solutions such as safe medical tools, long-distance medical tools, and IOT technology were sought along with Smart Bed, which is currently a draft of Safety bed. However, we decided to choose one of these tools because we thought it would be better to come up with a practical solution even if we chose one rather than thinking about all of the various tools.
The above Objective Tree is a final Objective tree drawn by our team with "protecting ourselves and the medical staff from the sudden behavior of the mentally ill." At this stage, we confirmed our team's current Objective "protecting ourselves and the medical staff from the sudden behavior of the mentally ill," and chose a bed from among the tools. I chose the bed because I thought that the bed was a tool that exists in any hospital room and at the same time, the bed would be convenient to expand its function among various tools. We sought to achieve patient self- and medical staff protection against accidental behavior of root objectives by adding safety bars, weight sensors, restraint devices, and IOT devices to the bed. Each detailed function will be described later in the design part.
